Taylor Wimpey Exeter raises over £5k for Hospiscare 

Colleagues from Taylor Wimpey Exeter have raised £5,316.42 for Hospiscare, an independent charity providing specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, central and east Devon.

The funds were raised as part of Taylor Wimpey’s annual challenge, where a team of 15 from the housebuilder’s Exeter office completed a hike along the north Devon coastline, followed by a series of competitive, creative and strategic tasks.

On Saturday 2 April, Exeter Friends For Animals (EFFA) in association with Fairfoods Catering will be launching their spring “Go Vegan” campaign at St Stephen’s Church in Exeter High Street.

Anyone interested in trying an animal-free diet, or simply curious about “what vegans eat”, is welcome to drop by between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm to browse the information stalls, pick up some recipe ideas, try some free food samples or stop for tea and cake or a snack.

Well done Team GemFest for another brilliant fun filled mini indoor festival at the Exeter Phoenix.

You’ve also raised money for Exeter Hospiscare – thank you Team GemFest and all the artists, businesses and volunteers who gave their time and the crowds who supported the event on Easter Sunday.

Pre-school raises £400 for Sports Relief

Children at Exminster Pre-school are thrilled to have raised £400 for Sports Relief 2016.

The children, all aged between 2 and 4 years, took part in a sponsored obstacle course organised by Pre-school staff; they carried 1 or 2 litre bottles of water around the obstacle course so they could start to gain an understanding of what some families in Africa have to do in order to get drinking water to their home.

Parkinson’s UK would like to thank Thrifty Car and Van rental for a fantastic year of fundraising, which has raised nearly £27,000 for the charity.

The partnership with Thrifty, whose head office is in Exeter, Devon, began in 2015 after the firm’s 1,500 employees voted for Parkinson’s UK as their national charity of the year. Thrifty currently operates in 95 locations across the UK, with a fleet of over 12,500 cars and 4,500 vans and minibuses.

Staff at Specsavers in Exeter donned their favourite hats today to raise money for Brain Tumour Research’s Wear A Hat Day.

Exeter charity and design agency celebrate grant news

Exeter charity CEDA is celebrating news of a £73,000 government grant with South West creative design agency Toucan.

Toucan, which made CEDA its charity of the year, has teamed up with the staff to provide on-going business support.

LHC take fundraising efforts to new heights

Exeter based LHC Architecture + Urbanism is set to take fundraising efforts to new heights this year, in aid of children’s bereavement support charity, Balloons.

Harriet King celebrated her 10th birthday by doing something very special for Exeter cancer charity FORCE.

Instead of getting presents on her big day, she asked friends and family to donate to the charity.
