A team from Carling Technologies in Exeter is training hard for their charity cycle ride from Exeter to Paris – all in support of Children’s Hospice South West.

The ride will take place from the 27 – 30 May and the team has set themselves a target of raising £50k for the hospice which cares for children, and their families, who are not expected to live until adulthood.

As 2016 gets underway, a local fundraiser is sending out a message of thanks to all who raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support last year.

Bridget Hill, Macmillan Fundraising Manager for South, Mid and East Devon said: "Because of all your support, in 2015 Macmillan was able to commit £310,686 in Devon, helping to support over 35,000 people living with or beyond cancer locally. On 28 May over 1,000 runners will be taking to the city streets and glowing for their local hospice charity.

The 5k sponsored run starts and finishes at the University of Exeter, with runners being entertained by music as they head towards the city centre.
