Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

Holiday park raises thousands for Exeter Foundation

A holiday park in Devon has helped raise nearly £5,000 for the Exeter Foundation Charity to help a host of local good causes.

Staff at Ladram Bay Holiday Park raised £4565 for the charity of the Exeter Chiefs, through a series of events held at the park on the Jurassic Coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

Exeter to Paris in four days!

A team from Carling Technologies in Exeter is training hard for their charity cycle ride from Exeter to Paris – all in support of Children’s Hospice South West.

The ride will take place from the 27 – 30 May and the team has set themselves a target of raising £50k for the hospice which cares for children, and their families, who are not expected to live until adulthood.

Charity invites businesses to compete in bake off

Disability charity, St Loye’s Foundation, will take their fundraising efforts to the next level with a team building corporate bake off event in April 2016.

Based in Exeter, the charity is inviting local businesses to enter teams of six to take part in Bake it Big; hosted by former Great British Bake Off contestant Glenn Cosby, the event will encourage team work and competitive spirit.

The charity team at Otter Nurseries in Ottery St Mary has announced this year’s charity partnership with the Baton.

The Baton is run by Alan Rowe, well known in the area for his charity work. Alan founded the organisation to raise awareness of life in the British Armed Forces and ensure ex forces personnel are given the right support when they return to civilian life. As 2016 gets underway, a local fundraiser is sending out a message of thanks to all who raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support last year.

Bridget Hill, Macmillan Fundraising Manager for South, Mid and East Devon said: "Because of all your support, in 2015 Macmillan was able to commit £310,686 in Devon, helping to support over 35,000 people living with or beyond cancer locally. Exeter-based Rainbow Living is inviting local children and disabled adults to celebrate Mother’s Day by getting involved in a special competition to show their mum how much they love them.

Exeter Neon Night Run is back!

On 28 May over 1,000 runners will be taking to the city streets and glowing for their local hospice charity.

The 5k sponsored run starts and finishes at the University of Exeter, with runners being entertained by music as they head towards the city centre. Skydivers wanted for 10,000ft tandem skydive

HeartSWell South West is looking for people to take to the sky and jump 10,000ft from a plane to raise money for heart patients and lifesaving equipment in the Westcountry. The 10,000ft tandem skydive can be completed in several different locations across the UK, the nearest centre being the Honiton Dropzone in Devon. HeartSWell ask the skydiver participant to raise £395 in sponsorship money in order for them to jump for free and in turn the charity will receive an average donation of £140.
