Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

Organic Arts awarded Lottery funding

Organic Arts is celebrating today after being awarded a grant of £158,385 from the Big Lottery Fund.

The fund will support Organic Arts’ community garden for the next five years which gives people to opportunity to engage in a variety of garden based practical activities on the outskirts of Exeter in Ide.

It offers volunteering opportunities for anyone who wants to get involved but is particularly targeted at people with mental health issues, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and people recovering from addiction.

Exeter firm raises the roof for African children's charity

An Exeter business has donated funds for essential building work at Child Hope Ministries, an orphanage in Uganda, as it helps put a roof over the heads of the charity’s growing number of vulnerable children.

Exeter-based waste management business Devon Contract Waste connected with the charity three years ago through a mutual friend who volunteered at the orphanage. Since then, the business has helped Child Hope Ministries founder Joram Muwanguzi develop a business plan to generate money, construct a school house, employ a full time teacher, and cover rent during difficult times...

Team Oxjam Exeter raised a magnificent £4,372.87 for Oxfam on Saturday 1st October, when 34 bands and artists played live across 3 stages at Timepiece Bar, Courtyard and Old Timers Bar in Exeter.

Exeter is just one of many town and cities all over the UK taking part in Oxjam music festivals this October.

Powering through for charity!

A team from temporary power specialist ide Systems will be taking on the Royal Marines Commando Challenge in Devon on Saturday (October 8).

The challenge, which takes place in Yettington, Woodbury Common, is a six-mile endurance course that raises money for The Royal Marines Charity and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. The Commando Challenge takes place each year and consists predominately of water-based tests of endurance, such as crawling through trenches and swimming through water-filled tunnels. Local musicians raise over £900 for charity

A collaboration of local musicians have raised the tuneful sum of £906 for Rainbow Living, following a Celebration Concert for the Exeter charity.

The concert, organised by award winning flautist Leonie Stevenson-Jones with Anne Jones and supported by The Stella Mars Trio and a number of talented local performers, was held to mark Rainbow Living’s 10th Anniversary.

On Friday 30th September, M&S Exeter will host an extra special coffee morning in celebration of Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

Thomas Westcott raises hundreds for Devon Air Ambulance

A cheque for more than £460 has been handed to the Devon Air Ambulance charity by Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants.

The money, totalling £462.85, was raised by the independent accountancy firm during its partners' attendance at agricultural fairs in Devon over the summer, including Holsworthy, Honiton, Okehampton, North Devon and Axe Vale.
