Are you classed as extremely vulnerable and at risk to the coronavirus? Do you have a long-term health condition or disability? Are you part of the Deaf community? Do you use British Sign Language? If you are struggling to get the information you need, or need more help to live your day to day life independently, charity Living Options Devon is offering free support and advice with its confidential listening service, Time to Talk.

Living Options Devon is a disabled persons’ user led organisation - run by, and for, disabled people and Deaf people. The charity has gathered together the most frequently asked questions on its Freephone helpline and video chats, and collected common issues from groups they work closely with.

Questions include; where to go for trusted and up-to-date information, how to access food and medical supplies, how to get physically active, and what helps to stay mentally positive. Living Options are making the answers to these questions available on their website on a dedicated page, “Your Questions Answered,” in ways that are accessible to everyone.

In particular, the charity provides information and advice in British Sign Language for Deaf people. It also shares information in accessible formats, such as large print and easy read guides.

Anne Clayton, Time to Talk Manager, said “We know this information never replaces seeing people face to face, but we are still here and still available to chat. We can do this over the phone, on messenger, or webchat for BSL users and those who just want to see a friendly face.  If you need to just talk to someone, or need help to figure a problem out, please do call us - it’s free. Phone 0300 303 3691, text SMS 07856 426 940, or email time2talk@livingoptions.org".

“Your Questions Answered” can be found on the charity’s web page https://livingoptions.org/support-help/your-questions-answered or through typing ‘Living Options your questions answered’ in the web search engine.

Follow Living Options Devon’s Facebook and Twitter pages for up-to-date advice from the charity and its trusted partners.
