Princesshay hosts the MS Society Big Orange Drop Abseil

Princesshay Shopping Centre has partnered up with the MS Society to support people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), by hosting the Big Orange Drop Abseil on Thursday 31st October from 12 noon until 7pm.

Princesshay and the MS Society are very keen for all to get involved and aim to raise as much money as possible. So if descending a massive 80 feet on Halloween sounds like your kind of thing and you’re over 12 years old, the centre would love to hear from you!

Isca Outdoor will be providing the essential equipment, fully qualified instructors and ground level training for the event. There is a £20 registration fee and the MS Society is asking for a minimum sponsorship of £60 per person. Prizes including a free facial at The Cove and wagamama vouchers will be given for the best spooky themed fancy dress and the highest sponsorship raised.

A fantastic £4,500 was raised for the MS Society with a firewalk at the centre in 2012. Andy Jarrett, Area Fundraiser for the MS Society said “It would be amazing if we are able to beat last year’s fundraising figure. The Halloween Big Orange Drop is an exciting event and we’d love for as many people as possible to take part in the challenge of descending the 80 feet down the side of Princesshay’s car park.”

The Big Orange Drop is something you can do on your own or with a team of friends, family or colleagues. This is great way to celebrate Halloween, have lots of fun whilst raising money of charity.

The MS Society is the leading national charity committed to beating MS – 100,000 people are living with the condition in the UK. MS affects almost three times as many women as men and you’re usually diagnosed in your 20s or 30s;
