Intrepid Mi-space staff will be donning the lycra and getting on their bikes to take on the Football to Amsterdam challenge for the second year in a row to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer.

Team Mi-space will undertake the two-day, 145-mile bike ride from London to the Dutch capital from 7 to 9 June.

Last year the team raised an impressive £15,000 and for 2019 have set themselves the huge challenge of raising a whopping £50,000 for Prostate Cancer UK. They are well on their way to this target with more than £17,000 already pledged.

Team Mi-space includes representatives from Exeter City Football Club and other partners who will ride alongside AJ Eaton, Matt Howells and Sam Heritage from Mi-space and Dean Richards from the Midas Group.

AJ Eaton, Divisional Director for Mi-space, said: “Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it kills one man in the UK every 45 minutes. We want to raise as much money as we can for Prostate Cancer UK to increase awareness, understanding and ultimately to help stop men dying from this disease.

“Although we have set ourselves a big target, we have already got some fantastic sponsors on board. Thanks to them, as well as other kind donations, we have already raised an impressive amount for the charity, with that amount rising each week.”

The team already has many sponsors for the upcoming cycle ride including Mi-space, HousingNet, Butcombe Brewing Co, Jem Scaffolding. RGB Building Supplies, CEF, Andover Gazette, LWS Interior Solutions, Cable IT, Michelmores LLP, Commercial Drone Training, Ashborne Construction Solutions, Newbury Metals, Impey Showers, Austin and Hobbs, Denholm Industrial Services, Lone Alert, Into Heat, RGB Recruitment, M-Tech Electrical, Exeter Airport, Cubra Electrical, Rabart Decorating Centres, Contour, NPS Group, Advanced Waste Solutions, API Communications, Thrifty and SDS Engineering Consultants, Michael Page Recruitment, CS Flooring, Charles Stanley, Robert Price Builders Merchants, YESSS Electrical, SPS Envirowall, Shield Environmental, Expedite, Santander and the Concrete Society S Wales Branch.

The team are planning a series of fundraising events in aid of the epic bike ride including a sold-out curry and comedy evening which took place in early February at St James Park in Exeter.
