On Wednesday 13th July, local charity Headway Devon will be holding a brain injury information day at the Sidmouth Methodist Church on Sidmouth High Street.

Open from 10am-3pm, the event will offer information stands, resources and advice for anyone wishing to know more about acquired brain injury or the work of Headway Devon. All are welcome and attendees will also be able to enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee and complimentary biscuits.

This event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Lions Club of Sidmouth, who raised money for Headway Devon with a fundraising concert in February. The aim of the event is to ensure that those affected by brain injury in the Sidmouth area are aware of the support that Headway Devon offers to local people.

Headway Devon Marketing Manager, Holly Keatings, says, "We are really looking forward to holding our awareness day in Sidmouth on Wednesday 11th July and we are very grateful to the Sidmouth Lions for making this possible.

"Headway Devon already support several people in the Sidmouth area who have been left with disabilities caused by acquired brain injury, but we know that there must be many more people affected by head injuries, strokes, brain tumours and other causes of brain injury who are not currently aware of the services that are available to them. We hope that this event will help us to reach more of these people so that they are able to get the support that they need and deserve."

Headway Devon has been providing essential services to people with brain injuries and their families in Devon and Torbay for 20 years. We exist to help people with brain injuries and their families come to terms with what has happened and go on to get the most out of their new lives.
