Hotel team don Christmas jumpers for charity

This Friday the nation will be swept with festive fever for Save The Children’s National Christmas Jumper Day.

The team at The Magdalen Chapter will be wrapping up in festive knitwear and donating to the cause. Hotel guests also wearing a Christmas jumper on Friday will be treated to a free mince pie with every hot drink throughout the day.

Hotel General Manager Fiona Moores said: “We are excited to be embracing National Christmas Jumper Day and raising money for this great charity. Ebola is at the forefront of everyone’s mind this Christmas and Save The Children’s efforts in West Africa responding to the outbreak is something that as a hotel we are passionate about supporting.

Friday will certainly be a sight for sore eyes with our team’s Christmas Jumpers out in force. A number of our staff are getting quite competitive trying to out ‘jumper’ each other. So far there’s been talk of singing jumpers, light up jumpers and some fairly flamboyant ones too. We aim to raise over £250 for Save The Children and we hope our jumpers will bring a touch of festive cheer and a smile to our guests’ faces.”

Throughout Friday 12 December, members of the hotel team will be ‘popping on their pullovers’ in aid of Save The Children. A free mince pie will also be on offer for every guests embracing National Christmas Jumper Day too.

Making the world ‘better with a sweater’, National Christmas Jumper day is now into its third year and has to date raised over £1.6 million. Save The Children is the world’s leading independent children’s charity working in 120 countries to help save the lives of children and fight for their rights.

Supporters of National Christmas Jumper Day are invited to follow the event using the hashtag #XmasJumperDay.
