Four colleagues from Exeter property and asset consultants, ES Group, have completed the gruelling National Three Peaks Challenge, raising money for chosen charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The 25 mile challenge, which involves scaling the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales – an ascent in excess of 10,000 feet – within 24 hours, was completed in a time of 23 hours and seven minutes by Gary Hooper, Jason Hall, Matthew Hartley and Philip Gibson, all from ES Group’s Exeter office.

The team has already raised over £1,850 and hopes to raise still more for Children’s Hospice South West, which provides hospice care for life-limited children and their families from across the South West of England. ES Group will present a cheque to the charity once final totals and monies have been received.

The ES Group team joined forces with three other businesses hailing from Exeter, representing chartered accountants Francis Clark, Ashfords Solicitors and Barclays Bank. All four teams contributed kit, transport, refreshments and maps as part of a collaborative effort. The round trip from Exeter took 71 hours and saw the group travel a total of 1,415 miles, undergoing 36 continuous hours without sleep.

Gary Hooper, Associate at ES Group’s Exeter office said: “We are all thrilled to have completed such a demanding challenge and even more so to have raised funds for such a worthy cause. The experience was fantastic, with unrivalled views and scenery and a truly wonderful team spirit to match. We were all back in work on the Monday morning and despite aching limbs we are already looking forward to planning more opportunities to support Children’s Hospice South West in the future.”

Naomi Dymond, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Little Bridge House (CHSW Head Office) said: “We are extremely thankful to ES Group and all the money raised by the team to support the work that we carry out. We rely on the generosity and efforts of those like ES Group to help us deliver our promise to make the most of short and precious lives across the South West. Every pound raised makes a significant and precious difference to the children and families who rely on our services.”
