Charity highlights work to help brain tumour patients during visit from MP and housebuilder

Taylor Wimpey makes £400 donation to Exeter branch of Brain Tumour Support

Taylor Wimpey staff joined Exeter MP Ben Bradshaw to learn more about the invaluable work of a charity that provides free support to patients, families and carers following a brain tumour diagnosis.

Brain Tumour Support offers individualised and specialist information, guidance and emotional support at any point from diagnosis and for as long as it is needed. The charity runs more than 20 support groups across the country, including branches in Exmouth and Truro that work with people across Devon and Cornwall.

At the branch’s most recent meeting on Friday 1st March Mr Bradshaw was the guest of honour, speaking with attendees and hearing their stories alongside representatives from Taylor Wimpey Exeter, who also made a £400 donation to the charity.

Mr Bradshaw said: “Brain Tumour Support offers a lifeline to so many brain tumour patients and their families because it offers bespoke support at a time of crisis. The charity gives support to anyone affected by a brain tumour diagnosis, for as long as this support is needed. 

“Brain tumours, whether cancerous or non-cancerous, have a devastating effect on a person’s cognitive function, mental health and independence. Demand for the charity’s services is constantly increasing, so donations such as this one from Taylor Wimpey are essential in order for the charity to continue to offer its much-needed support services.”
