Exeter Solicitors Rundlewalker are delighted to announce the appointment of new director Jenna Hamilton-Pursglove who is heading up their Conveyancing Department.  And to extend a warm welcome back to two members of the team who missed the friendly atmosphere so much, they couldn’t wait to return.

Jenna originally studied English and Public Relations at Sheffield Hallam University, but it was a summer job in an Exmouth Solicitors that gave her a taste for law.  She then went on to study law via distance learning with CILEx, qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive.

Exeter College’s Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement Mike Blakeley has been shortlisted for a national award in the prestigious Tes FE Awards 2020.  

The awards ceremony is a landmark event in the further education sector as exceptional teachers, learners and providers join together to celebrate innovation and excellence in the industry.

The Samara Regional Court upheld sentences to the former top-managers of the company, despite the claims of the defense that there had been numerous violations during the trial, at the first instance and appeal court.

Students, parents, staff and the Exeter community joined together to celebrate Christmas at Exeter College’s Festival of Carols in the stunning setting of Exeter Cathedral, all in the name of charity.  

The annual event celebrated the college’s exceptionally talented students, with performances from the Exeter College orchestra, as well as student choirs and piano and vocal duets.

Exeter College has once again been ranked as one of the top colleges in the country in FE Week’s annual NICDEX rankings. This latest ranking means that Exeter College has never left the top five since the ranking’s inception four years ago. The Ofsted Outstanding college has topped the billing twice, come fifth once and this year’s fourth place ranking means they have been the highest ranked college across the four years since the NICDEX was created.

Any adult with an interest in developing their business skills or starting their own venture can attend free of charge, whether they are just curious about the subject area or already have some skills they want to develop.

Exeter College has made it to the finals of the Association of Colleges Beacon City & Guilds Award for Engagement with Employers.  

The Beacon Awards celebrate the best and most innovative practice among UK colleges each year. This award, supported by City and Guild, recognises exemplary practice in demonstrating an outstanding ability to work with and provide a direct service to employers. In particular, colleges that are effective in meeting employers’ skills needs and Apprenticeship requirements. 

Businesses rate Exeter College top in the South West for FE apprenticeship employer satisfaction for second year running

The Department of Education has released results of its annual survey that ranks Apprenticeship providers based on business feedback and Exeter College has topped the South West table for further education colleges once again.  

This is the second year running Exeter College received the highest rating from employers across the region, within the four counties of the South West, and the third year in a row it has scored above 97.5%.  

Galliford Try partnerships first to benefit from employer fund for T Levels

Leading regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships is the first to benefit from a government-backed initiative to encourage employers to provide valuable industry placements to T Level students.  

The FTSE 250 business has partnered with Exeter College to provide industry placements to T Level construction students studying with the College from 2020. 

Secretary of State Visits Exeter College to Talk T Levels

The Secretary of State for Education Gavin Williamson MP visited Exeter College to learn more about the impact new T Level qualifications will have on the region’s learners.  

As a government-selected ‘early adopter’ of the new technical-based qualification, Exeter College is the only provider in Devon offering T Levels for 2020 delivery, with courses initially available in Construction, Digital and Education and Childcare. Further T Level courses will launch from 2021 as part of a national roll out.
