A great night was had by all at this year’s Exeter Chamber Annual Business Dinner.

The dinner was sponsored by Ashfords Solicitors, Heart Fm and Old Mill Group and was held at The Sandy Park Confrence Centre, where attendees were treated to a champagne reception followed by a four-course feast.

Everys Solicitors has welcomed solicitor Sandra Cottey and paralegal Kathryn Prince to the firm.

Miss Cottey has recently made the move from Clarke Willmott in Taunton and she will specialise in private client work at Everys’ Sidmouth and Seaton offices.

Miss Prince brings her legal experience from working for Bond Pearce. She will work in Everys’ Honiton office specialising in private client work. Miss Prince has experience in dealing with wills and powers of attorney along with other estate planning matters.

UK inflation rate remains at 2.7%

The UK's rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the year to September, remains at 2.7%. The rate is unchanged since August.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), changes in the consumer categories used to measure the rate were relatively small compared with most months. The largest upward contribution came from air fares, though this was offset by a downward contribution from petrol and diesel prices.

Inflation as measured by the retail price index (RPI) fell by 0.1% to 3.2% from 3.3% in August.
