The Dash Group increases SW presence with new site and expanded coverage

Dash Express, a division of The Dash Group and part of The APC delivery network - the UK’s largest independent parcel delivery network - has announced further expansion in the South West with the opening of a new, larger site located in Cullompton. The new site will serve as Dash Express’ new ‘Exeter’ location, strengthening its regional presence and achieving full service coverage across the South West with the company also expanding its delivery coverage to include Taunton, Somerset and North Devon.

Finance in the South West event

Francis Clark’s annual Finance in the South West event, now in its 4th year running, will be taking place on Tuesday 23rd February from 08:00 to 14:00 at Exeter Racecourse.

The Seminar brings together specialists representing funding and business support available to businesses in the Heart of the South West LEP area. This year the keynote speaker will be Radio 4 business and economics journalist Jonty Bloom.

Droplet begins second funding bid

A fast growing mobile app that combines loyalty with payments is one of the first companies in the UK to return to Crowdcube to achieve its aim of being in 20 cities by the end of 2016.

Droplet, which launched in Exeter last year, will look to secure more than £450,000 of funding in a second round bid that went live this week.

The decision comes after the company achieved its 12-month business plan of setting up and rolling out in 10 major cities, including Birmingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London and Norwich.

City solicitors Rundlewalker have successfully retained the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark, Lexcel, a much sought after accreditation scheme for law firms in England and Wales.

The government has announced it will protect the ‘green purpose’ of the Green Investment Bank after privatisation, using an approach modelled on Regen SW’s constitution. A ‘special share’ in the bank will be held by a separate company independent of both the bank and the government.

The bank would not be able to make changes to its green mission unless this ‘Special Shareholder’ gives its consent.
