The Institute of Directors has expanded its South West team with the appointment of Hannah Goodenough as head of Business Development for the region.

Hannah, who lives in Bath, will be based at the regional headquarters at the Science Park in Emerson's Green, Bristol, but will be responsible for retaining and attracting membership across the South West which has branches representing members in Bristol, Somerset, Bath and Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Dorset and Devon and Cornwall.

easyProperty, the latest venture from easyGroup, has turned to crowdfunding to help raise funds and change the face of the traditional estate agency market.

Founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the founder of easyJet and the property entrepreneur and industry veteran Robert Ellice, the company closed its pitch on equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube at midnight after raising more than £1.4m – well over its original £1m target. Surge in trade mark filing signals boom in Devon business growth

A surge in trade mark filings indicates that Devon companies are continuing to perform well following the challenges of the last few years, according to a leading intellectual property lawyer.

Stephens Scown LLP has filed 55 per cent of all trade marks filed by professionals in Devon and Cornwall this year.
