Porter Dodson, a Top 200 UK law firm with offices across the South West, has reported record-breaking results, increasing revenue to £20.2 million – a 15.5% year-on-year rise – and net profit by 25.4%. The firm, which now employs over 200 people across seven locations including Exeter, Sherborne, and Taunton, also retained its Gold Investors in People accreditation for the third consecutive time.

Driving this success is a strategic combination of operational efficiency, investment in talent, and a focus on trusted client relationships. Expansion into Exeter’s Southernhay has enabled the firm to serve more clients and grow key departments, particularly in private client and corporate commercial law.

Managing Partner Kate James credited the firm’s growth to its team:

“This is only made possible through the dedication, commitment, and hard work of our team. Across all our services, we provide collaborative, supportive, commercial, and pragmatic solutions – while continuing to play an active role in our communities.”

The firm has already exceeded the 10% annual growth target laid out in its 2024 five-year business plan and is actively recruiting across senior positions to support rising demand.

With an eye on sustainable growth, Porter Dodson is now preparing to pursue B Corp accreditation – a globally recognised certification for ethical business practices across governance, environment, community, and customer care.

“We are creating a culture where innovation is flourishing, and collaboration is driving performance,” James added. “That future-focused approach aligns strongly with B Corp principles, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.”
