Haberdashery sales buzzing at John Lewis

Since the BBC's new sewing programme, The Great British Sewing Bee aired, John Lewis Exeter has seen a surge in purchases of haberdashery products, with sales looking set to rise further over the coming weeks.

Following the programme's launch the haberdashery department in Exeter saw a 36% increase on the week before including a 55% increase in sales of sewing machines.

Claire Tovey, section manager for Haberdashery said: “We've been really please with the reaction from our customers to the Great British Sewing Bee.  There's no doubt it's given lots of people the sewing bug!”
