
Exeter businesses at capacity
The latest Exeter Business Survey, carried out by Exeter Chamber of Commerce, shows the highest number of Exeter businesses working at capacity levels since March 2008.
In addition to this, members have also reported the highest level of business confidence since September 2007.
Exeter Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with the Bank of England, on 26 June 2014 to report the findings of their Business Survey, for the last quarter.
The Business Survey also shows that investment has increased in the last quarter with 53% of members investing in their company, up 10% from March 2014. Furthermore, 35% have taken on new employees in the last quarter with 51% intending to take on new staff in the next year.
Derek Phillips, vice president of Exeter Chamber of Commerce and Industry said: “With an increase in the number of businesses working at full capacity comes greater job security, increased staff motivation and generates an atmosphere of success.
"It is excellent news that Exeter businesses are continuing to show a high level of growth in difficult trading conditions.”
