Chartered Accountants Francis Clark have announced that Declan Curry, the distinguished business and economics journalist and broadcaster, is to be the keynote speaker at the firm’s annual Finance in the South West seminar.

Declan Curry was the business presenter on the BBC’s breakfast TV for almost a decade. He presented his own regular programmes on BBC Two and Radio 5 Live, wrote documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and reported for programmes as diverse as “Panorama” and “The One Show”.
The Finance in the South West seminar brings together people representing the funding and support streams potentially available to SMEs including grants, debt, equity and peer to peer lending.

Lewis Banfield, a partner at Francis Clark, will chair the meeting at Exeter Racecourse in February.  He said: “We have brought together major providers of business funding and support who will provide succinct presentations to assist owner/managers in ascertaining whether a particular funding stream is right for them.

“There will be opportunities for networking and for owner/managers to pose one to one questions.  We will also be reminding delegates which of the many established ‘funds’ are open for business.

“We are particularly delighted to have secured the services of Declan Curry whose expertise and insightful commentary ensures he is in demand as a speaker and event host.”

The event is supported by a number of significant organisations and agencies including GAIN, Growth Capital Investors, Crowdcube, South West Investment Group Services, Funding Circle, GrowthAccelerator and the Local Enterprise Partnership.

The free of charge “Finance in the South West” Seminar takes place from 8.30am-2pm at Exeter Racecourse on Wednesday 25 February 2015.  Places are limited to two representatives per business and reservations can be made by visiting www.francisclark.co.uk/events or by emailing Devon.Reynolds@francisclark.co.uk
