Women in business celebrated across the South West 

Over 100 business women were inspired as The Successful Women in Business Network (SWIB) held their annual conference and launched their SWIB Awards last month. 

SWIB is a membership organisation for women who want to grow their businesses , an or develop their careers, with the support of other women, at regular networking events across Devon, Dorset, Hampshire & Somerset.

Founded by Gill Donnell MBE experienced leader, motivational speaker and business coach, who has spent much of her working life promoting the role of women in the workplace. 

In 2009, Gill’s work was recognised with the award of an MBE and in 2018 was appointed as The Institute of Directors South West Ambassador for Diversity.

During the conference women were energised with guest speakers, an expert Start Up Scale Up panel and empowering workshops. 

The Successful Women in Business Awards celebrate and showcase the work and businesses of Successful Women across the South West. 

There are 10 categories to choose from, including Business Mother, Innovation, Digital Communication and Women in Engineering.

Gill Donnell, founder of SWIB, comments: “The business world is full of hugely talented and successful women who not only run businesses or work in demanding roles, but often also juggle caring responsibilities at the same time and they don’t always recognise their own amazing achievements. So, with the support of our sponsors and marketing partners we will be celebrating and recognising these local women at our Awards Ceremony at the George Albert Hotel & Spa on June 7th."
