Exeter-based IT specialists Nexus Open Systems have gained a prestigious business accreditation – and one of their team has been named a ‘legend’ for his technical expertise.

The accolade has come from Veeam, the industry leader in data protection, who provide global back-up and recovery software.

Nexus is one of only four companies in the UK to be certified by Veeam as an Accredited Service Partner (VASP). Having been assessed by Veeam, Nexus have been recognised as having duly experienced and trained Veeam engineers along with the business capability to deliver Veeam projects.

In addition, Michael Paul, a technical consultant at Nexus, has been named a Veeam ‘Legend’. He is one of the top twenty-three specialists to be selected from 1000’s globally having been recognised for his expert contributions within the community.

Nexus bases its flagship, award-winning, backup and disaster recovery solution, Nexus Cloud Connect (NCC), on Veeam technology. It was designed in consultation with Veeam technical staff, and it won 'Most Innovative Managed Service Solution: General' at the UK Managed Service and Hosting Awards 2019.

Michael Paul says: “It’s a great honour for me to be named a Veeam legend. It also gives companies invaluable peace of mind when it comes to protecting their critical information.

Being a VASP, Nexus have special access to Veeam advisers, plus extra documentation that is not available elsewhere. Our back up and disaster recovery solutions are available to all companies to protect their servers. We use smart techniques to avoid backing up unnecessary data and to make the recovery of specific files quick and easy. This provides additional peace of mind during the pandemic when more staff are working from home and security could be compromised.”
