The new year finds a new front of house manager at Ottery St Mary coffee shop, Tickety-Boo.

Popular front of house regular Cheryl Mabin moved into the role after Zoe Blackmore decided to pursue a different vocation.

Cheryl has been working at Tickety-Boo for over 16 months, almost since the coffee shop opened. Previously she worked in customer service at Tufnells, with 14 years at The Disney Store and a stint at children’s playzone Wacky Warehouse.

Cheryl said: “I’m not one for an office job, and I have loved working at Tickety-Boo since the day I started.

“It’s always busy and our customers are really friendly.”

The manager role is ideal for Cheryl, as she enjoys a customer-facing environment. She says she particularly loves being around children, crucial for a coffee shop that also has soft play, a castle, treehouse and pirate ship.

Tickety-Boo owner, Stuart Phillips said: “I’m delighted that Cheryl was happy to take over the manager’s role as she is already familiar with the team and our work ethos.

“All the customers know Cheryl and she’s well-liked, always with a smile on her face.”
