YMCA Exeter Job Club staff and their trained volunteers are teaming together with professionals from agencies and employers, on Wednesday 11th October at Belmont Chapel, for their Big Job Club – a day which helps to connect job seekers with employers and help with everything from CV writing to job applications.

YMCA Exeter has been offering job clubs in the community for the last eight years, but with their Big Lottery Funding coming to a close at the end of the year, the charity wants to encourage more people to make use of their all-age service while it is still available.

Jane Spain, Job Club Coordinator at YMCA Exeter, says, “The Big Job Club is an amazing opportunity to introduce job seekers to all other agencies, which offer similar support and will be available next year and beyond.”

Job seekers attending on the day will be greeted by YMCA, while they familiarise themselves with everything that is on offer. They will have an opportunity to meet with members of the YMCA team who can help identify their most pressing need in their job search.

YMCA Exeter will also be able to help job seekers update their CV, sign up to Universal Jobmatch, search for jobs, develop confidence at networking and interviews through fun opportunities to chat to people, or the more formal opportunity of a mock interview and feedback, meet agencies who offer specialist support, prepare for the jobs fair happening the day after, and even meet employers who will be there on the day.

Some key employers attending on the day include, Recruit Princesshay, Proud to Care and WB Employment.

“We want everyone who comes along on the day to be given a boost in their job searching confidence and leave with renewed hope for their future,” continues Jane Spain.

If job-seeking support is what you need, please make your way over to the Big Job Club at Belmont Chapel, two doors up from the Job Centre on Western Way, between, 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 11th October.
