Woman robbed and assaulted in Heavitree

Police are appealing to dog walkers in the Heavitree area of Exeter who may have witnessed a robbery.

On Wednesday, 11th May a woman, in her twenties, was robbed and assaulted as she walked her dog in Hamlin Lane playing fields between 6pm and 7pm.

The woman was pushed to the floor and suffered a number of minor cuts when the suspect used a sharp object to attack her. She did not require medical treatment but was very shaken.

The victim’s brown leather wallet was stolen during the incident.

The suspect is described as a man in his thirties, wearing jeans and a black jumper. He had dark hair and was described as having a shabby appearance.

Anyone who was in the park at the time and may have seen anything, or has any information, is asked to call police on 101 or email 101@dc.police.uk
