Welcome reception for holiday park guests

A celebration with a traditional Devonshire cream tea marked the opening of a popular East Devon holiday park’s new reception area.

The work at Oakdown Touring & Holiday Caravan Park, which is located outside Sidmouth, took five months to complete and employed 20 local tradespeople.

The new reception, which was officially opened by Neil Parish MP, is now ready to welcome guests to the park for the 2017 holiday season. The park’s café has also been refurbished as part of the improvement work.

Alastair Franks, who runs the park with this wife Andrianna and parents Doreen and Roger, said they were thrilled with the new space.

‘It was very important to us to employ local people for this work. It has taken five months to complete and really reflects the high standard of the park. We were thrilled to have Neil Parish MP along to open the reception and to join us in celebrating the event.’
