Success for Exeter School Olde Timers
Exeter School’s Young Enterprise team has won the Devon & Somerset round of the national YE competition.
The Olde Timers, made up of Lower Sixth pupils who sell clocks from recycled materials such as cheese boxes and records, also took the prize for Best Trade Stand at a Devon & Somerset event held at Asda supermarket.
The team generated the highest revenue out of the teams there and repeated their success at the Guildhall Christmas event where they sold out of stock.
The enterprising team set up a crowd funding page in a bid to raise enough money to develop their product range and are now through to the South West Finals.
Head of Economics Stuart Mackintosh said the team had worked very hard and deserved to do well.
“The team of ten will compete against seven counties on 19 June at RNAS Culdrose,” he said.
“They will give a presentation to leading entrepreneurs from the South West about their business, produce a company report, including all the financial details of the trading year, and a trade stand and winners will go through to the next round in London.”
