
Police appeal after serious assault in Exeter
A woman in her 30s was assaulted by a man in an alleyway next to KFC on South Street sometime during the day time on Tuesday 14 February 2017.
The woman was hit in the face which resulted in serious facial injuries which included loosened teeth and a broken jaw, requiring hospital treatment.
A 37 year old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and is on police bail while further enquiries are carried out.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We’re aware this assault took place a number of weeks ago, but this is a very serious assault. We understand there were people in the vicinity around the time of the incident where we believe someone ran across the road. We’d like to hear from this person. Given this was a memorable date we hope this will help people to recall this incident.
“If you witnessed the assault, or saw activity in the area immediately afterwards, we urge you to come forward to police. Any information could be vital to our investigation of this very serious assault.”
