National award success for Devon travel firm
Nomadic Travel gains recognition from industry specialists for outstanding service
A specialist Devon-based travel company has scooped its second top national award.
Nomadic Travel, on Gandy Street in Exeter, has been announced as one of the top three best independent agencies in the UK by the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), at a prestigious event in Cordoba in Spain.
The award was based on voting by over 100 independent tour companies.
The third place award comes after Nomadic Travel, which has been providing an extensive range of holidays around the world for clients for more than 15 years, picked up the Travel 2 ‘Top Tailor-Made Travel Agent’ award in 2012.
“Gaining recognition for our services from so many specialist travel companies is quite humbling,” said Rob Hitchings, managing director of Nomadic Travel.
“We have won a number of awards and accolades in recent years but this is probably our proudest moment. We have been recognised as being in the top three best independent travel companies, out of more than 130 across the UK. To be voted so highly is something we are absolutely delighted by.”
Recently Rob and his team of well-travelled consultants have had clients returning from trips to the Galapagos Islands, Russia, South Korea, Bangladesh and Ethiopia.
The team make sure they have the latest lowdown on destinations to offer customers, by going themselves – with Ecuador, the Maldives, India and Canada amongst the places being visited in 2015.
Suzanne Partridge, of Nomadic Travel, is visiting Sri Lanka in July. She said: “It is always a huge privilege to travel and we don’t take these opportunities lightly, but it is so important to regularly make country visits so we really know what’s happening. We pride ourselves on creating incredible experiences and having the very latest information, be it the amazing places to stay that others don’t know about, hidden areas to explore, or exciting trips and activities that can’t be found in any guidebook or online.”
Rob added: “The award encourages us to keep striving for improvement in all we do. There is no doubt that our passion for helping our clients to get the most from their travels remains as strong as ever.”
