A giant snow globe in the city has raised over £1,200 for Exeter Deaf Academy, Princesshay’s charity of the year. The snow globe allows passers-by to climb inside, play in the pretend snow and have a festive photo taken.

Princesshay’s Operations Manager, Andy Littlejohns said: “Exeter Deaf Academy is a local, dynamic charity which provides excellent support for the deaf community. The snow globe was so popular last year so we knew we wanted to bring it back, raising funds for the Academy in the process.”

Princesshay announced Exeter Deaf Academy as its charity partner for 2016 in February this year and has been working with the local charity throughout the year on events and fundraising activities, including sponsoring their football team’s kit and taking part in The City to Sea Marathon, a challenging 26.5-mile route from Exeter to Babbacombe Downs in Torquay.

Helen Trebble, Marketing Manager at Exeter Deaf Academy said: “We are so grateful to The Christmas Snow Globe for the generous donation to Exeter Deaf Academy. Proceeds will support students and help them to reach their full potential. Money raised will also go towards purchasing essential items, such as specialist sensory and audiology equipment, as well as funding support services for families.”
