On Sunday 15th October, running enthusiasts from around the county will be taking part in the infamous Great West Run - an exciting 13.1 mile route taking runners through the heart of Exeter city centre.

This year, four local businesses, Attention Media, Burrington Estates, Wilkinson Grant & Co and Expedite, are rallying together to become the ultimate running dream team, collectively raising money for YMCA Exeter at the Great West Run.

With the hope of raising £1,200, the funds will support the vital work YMCA Exeter provides to the local community.

The charity supports young people in their time of need, creating positive opportunities through a wide range of Youth Services; empowering young people with practical and valuable life skills and inspiring them to become transforming influences in their community.

Bethan Spencer, Fundraising and Engagement Manager at YMCA Exeter, says: “We were absolutely thrilled and delighted at the news Sarah, Gemma, Edward and Andrew were going to be working together to raise money for YMCA Exeter. All four businesses have been big supporters and advocates of our work, and were instrumental in our recent ‘Changing Rooms, Changing Lives’ campaign, where we renovated the communal living space at our St David’s Hill accommodation centre.

“We appreciate all the work, time and effort all four businesses will be putting in to raise money for YMCA Exeter and we wish them all the success in their fundraising efforts.”

The £1,200 the team aim to raise could enable 24 YMCA Exeter residents to receive tailored one-to-one support and help them with their next steps - from budgeting and money management to accessing jobs.

Sarah Jepson, Managing Director at Attention Media, says: “On behalf of our running dream team, we are beyond excited (and slightly scared!) to be taking part in the Great West Run and raising money for a charity which is close to the community’s heart. YMCA Exeter provides a dedicated, passionate and loyal service to the young people of Exeter, and we feel privileged to be representing them at the Great West Run. We hope people will get behind us and help hit our £1,200 target and we appreciate any contributions people can make.”
