Family tribute to Silverton crash victim

A local man who died following a serious collision in Silverton last week has been named as Roger Tucker.

Mr Tucker died when the car he was travelling in was involved in a three-car collision on Park Road in Silverton, Devon.

His family have made the following tribute:

“Roger sadly died after a car accident on the evening of Friday 15th September 2017. Aged 74 years old he was a loving husband to Sue and devoted father to Laura and Stephanie and grandpa to Sophie, Kieran, Ben and Grace.

“Roger enjoyed left to the full as a dedicated member of Tiverton Golf Club, group leader of Exeter RSPB and an active member of Silverton Methodist Church.

“A hard working but fun loving man he will be desperately missed by his family, friends and the community.”

Police were notified at around 4.20pm on Friday 15 September 2017 to reports of a serious collision between a white Honda Civic, a black Hyundai Santa Fe and a blue Ford C Max.

The Honda was travelling in the direction of Silverton when it collided with the other two vehicles which were travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Honda Civic was pronounced deceased a short time later at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The weather at the time of the collision was raining heavily with reduced visibility.
