Age UK Exeter is proud to be working in partnership with Living Space Architects

The Exeter based company, who design housing for retirement, later life and adapted living, were moved to read about the new Budding Friends project set up by Age UK Exeter.

The project provides stimulating and engaging activities for people recently diagnosed with dementia and their families.

The project has taken on an allotment and needed a shed, both to store equipment and to provide shelter from the elements for the older people working outdoors.

Kirsty Curnow Bayley, Director from Living Space said: “We are delighted to be involved with this project, integrating outdoor space into our designs is something we really believe in we look forward to seeing the benefits this can bring and continuing to be involved.”

Corinne Bailey, Development Manager from Age UK Exeter said: "The donation from Living Space Architects means so much to us.

"They have visited the site, dug up some weeds and met some of the people taking part in the project.

"We are so grateful and hope they will enjoy seeing what we create and grow in the space over the next year.”

The Exeter project is one of five different Age UK dementia pilot schemes around the country devised by local Age UK’s to meet the specific needs of its community.
