A South-West based creative agency has designed an international online commemoration to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday.

Award-winning Toucan designed The Queen’s Birthday Book, which will form a huge digital collection of messages, photos and videos.

Josh Beadon, Toucan’s creative director, said they were honoured to play a part in recognising the public’s great affection for Her Majesty The Queen and enabling everyone to add their birthday messages and personal stories.

“The book features a deceptively simple ribbon crown emblem which recognises both her status and a birthday gift,” added Josh.

Among the team which worked on the project are two recent graduates from Plymouth University and members of Toucan Academy, which the company started last year to support recent graduates through paid internships.

Designer Ollie Eskriett, 23, developed the concept of a crown made of one flowing ribbon while Christina Colwell, who is also studying for a Masters in publishing, created an educational pack for primary school children.

The Queen has approved the book which was created by The Online Book Company from Penryn, Cornwall.  Already messages are pouring in from all over the world including ones from celebrities Dame Vera Lynn, Jamie Oliver and Dame Kelly Holmes.

Also, the ribbon crown has been applied to a variety of commemorative gifts from high quality greetings cards to teddy bears and T-shirts. The commemorative items and the schools pack are available from: www.queensbirthday.co.uk which was also designed and developed by Toucan.

The online book is live for anyone to add their messages. www.thequeensbirthdaybook.com
