#CaptureExeter winner announced

The Exeter Business Improvement District has announced the winner of its Capture Exeter photography competition.

Terry Welch took the winning photograph, taken from the viewpoint of Exeter Castle. The image was chosen due to the unusual viewpoint, showing a different part of the city centre that many may have not seen before. The competition, launched at the start of February, asked budding photographers to capture what they love most about Exeter in one glorious image to be in with a chance of winning £100 worth of Jessops vouchers and a Jessops photography course.

Craig Bulley, CEO of Exeter BID Company says, “We launched the photography competition to find which parts of Exeter people admired the most. The entries we have had through are a complete mix, from the iconic Cathedral to the eclectic Gandy Street, they all capture Exeter from a different viewpoint. It was a difficult task to choose the winning image, as all the entries were to such a high standard, but we chose Terry’s image hoping it will encourage others to explore different parts of Exeter. Congratulations Terry and thank you to all entrants.”

A shortlist of 10 images were chosen by the BID team from 150 total entries. The winning image was voted for by the Exeter BID board and announced on Monday 11th April. To see the winning image plus the remaining nine shortlisted entries, visit the In Exeter Facebook page.
