Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink took home a Devon Tourism Award for the third year running at last night’s ceremony, held at the Holiday Inn in Plymouth.

The Festival picked up a Bronze award for its 12th event, which took place in April at Exeter Castle and Northernhay Gardens.

The multi-award winning Festival also celebrated Silver in the 2014-2015 South West England Tourism Excellence Awards last year.

Of the win Derek Phillips, Board Chairman of the Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink says: “We are delighted to be recognised once again at the Devon Tourism Awards, particularly in light of the record breaking number of entries submitted this year.

"2015 was an excellent year for the Festival. We had fantastic visitor numbers and several new and exciting features including the Festival Question Time with Radio Devon and the Westcountry Bakery with Glenn Cosby.”

The 2016 Festival looks to be even bigger and better with the voluntary Board of Directors looking forward to bringing a number of tasty new activities and features alongside the wide array of food and drink producers who travel from across the south west to sell their regional wares.

Mr Phillips continues: “Next year will be our 13th festival which is a wonderful achievement. As a not-for-profit we couldn’t do it without the generous support of our sponsors.”

Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink 2016 runs from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th April in the Exeter Castle courtyard and Northernhay Gardens. The three-day festival celebrates the outstanding food and drink of the South West, featuring a delicious mix of chef demonstrations, hands-on family activities and workshops, more than 100 food and drink producers, farm animals, live music, a Festival Question Time hosted by BBC Radio Devon and the West Country Bakery featuring British bake-off contestant Glenn Cosby.
