Residents of Sandford, near Crediton, are celebrating after the official opening of affordable new homes in the village. Summerfield Developments have recently completed work on the Creedy View development set in the Mid-Devon countryside.

The scheme is the first major residential development in the area for over 20 years and each of the nineteen properties have been carefully designed by the Taunton-based developer to complement its delightful rural location, while offering all the benefits of a modern home.

Chair of Sandford Parish Council, Shuana Waller, invited local councillors and residents to celebrate the official opening with refreshments and cake on a rare sunny October afternoon. Mrs Waller said of the development, “Summerfield Homes should be commended on the quality of the Creedy View development. Rarely do you find affordable homes with such character and we are proud and pleased that they are here in Sandford.”

Villagers are also pleased that Summerfield have added a new car park for the Sandford Parish Hall and a play area for the local families. Local MP, Mr Mel Stride, said of the development, “Creedy View is a fantastic initiative which has been a long time coming into fruition. It is important that we create these affordable homes for the younger generation and for people to keep the community here thriving. I’d like to wish much success to all those who live here.”

Richard Nicol, Divisional Sales Director for Summerfield, said: “Sandford is a stunning location that oozes character with its thatched cottages, cob walls and cobbled pavements. It was a pleasure to work with the local community and new residents to bring affordable homes to the village. All of the homes have now been sold and the buyers are enjoying life in Sandford.”
