Two award-winning holiday parks owned by the same Devon family have been awarded the highest accolade achievable in the tourism industry.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park and sister park Castle Brake have both been awarded five Gold Stars each through the VisitEngland National Quality Assessment Scheme.

Ladram Bay is situated in Otterton near Budleigh Salterton on the Jurassic Coast. Sister site Castle Brake is set on the edge of Woodbury Common, only a short drive away from the coast.

The accolade comes after Ladram Bay officially launched close to £3million worth of new and upgraded facilities including the swimming pool complex, poolside café, sun terrace, Pebbles Restaurant and a Jurassic-themed dinosaur adventure golf course.

Zoe House, Director at Ladram Bay Holiday Park, said: “We are thrilled that we have achieved this top award for not one but both of our parks. I am pleased that the teams at both sites have been recognised for all the hard work they put in to ensure our guests have a first class experience. The launch of our new facilities has made Ladram Bay the place to be this summer. The addition of extra pitches and investment in the new luxury development at Castle Brake is proving to be very popular and is attracting new customers.”

Both parks were classed as ‘excellent’ by the VisitEngland inspection teams, who assessed them on the quality of their facilities, physical and personal comfort, service and hospitality, management, attention to detail, guest experience and services and general cleanliness.”

Victoria Hatfield, Chair of Visit Devon, said: "Very few holiday parks achieve the highest accolade of five stars so to receive 10 between Ladram Bay and Castle Brake holiday parks is a real achievement. It's testament to the work that goes in to ensure the customer experience is exceptional in Devon. Well done to the teams at both."
