In support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) Nick Reed from Exeter has set himself the arduous challenge of cycling from his home in Exeter all the way to CHSW’s Little Bridge House hospice in Fremington, Barnstaple and back again!

Nick will commence his lengthy journey from his home in Exeter on Saturday 26 August and is calling on supporters to either join him or cheer him along the way. Nick will start his challenge at 8.00am, making his way to Little Bridge House before returning to his home that evening.

CHSW offers care and support to life-limited children and their families, including bereavement support, and relies almost entirely on voluntary donations.  Nick first visited CHSW’s Little Bridge House hospice in Fremington following his step-son’s diagnoses of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Nick Reed said: “I hope that everyone on my route will join me to help raise as many funds as possible for CHSW. My step-son Owen uses Little Bridge House and I think they do a great job for him and the family, it’s also a personal challenge for me, suffering with epilepsy, to take on this cycle.”

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) helps and supports local children and their families who are living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, which means that sadly they will not reach adulthood. It costs over £9.8 million to run Children’s Hospice South West’s three hospices in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset and these costs are met almost entirely from voluntary funding.
