The winners of the 2015 Michelmores Property Awards have been announced – showcasing the very best of the South West's property and construction industry.

Three building projects in Exeter are celebrated in the winners list, including Exeter Mathematics School, Samuel Jones Smoke & Ale House, and residential development, Holland Park.

Exeter Mathematics School, based at the historic Rougemont House and Samuel Jones Smoke & Ale House on the city's quayside, were named joint winners in the 'Heritage Project of the Year' category.

The Exeter Mathematics School restoration project led by Kier Construction, saw a transformation of the impressive Georgian building adjacent to Exeter Castle – restoring many of its original features back to their former glory. Meanwhile, St Austell Brewery's Samuel Jones, has breathed new life into a disused former Victorian warehouse, which has already proved a hugely popular venue with city residents and visitors.

Holland Park, by Exeter-based Heritage Developments, is the city's first-ever zero carbon development and took home the prize for 'Residential Development of the Year – 40 units and Under'.

Emma Honey, Head of Real Estate at Michelmores, said: "This year we received the highest number of entries in the last five years of the competition − signaling a strengthening property and construction sector in the South West. The quality of this year's entries has been very impressive with tough competition in each category, so many congratulations to all the winners on their fantastic achievement."

The Michelmores Property Awards − now in its 13th year, celebrates excellence in the property and construction industry, across the commercial and residential sectors in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.

The Awards Dinner was hosted by comedian and writer Rory McGrath, at Exeter's Sandy Park Conference Centre on 19 May.
