The world’s first and most successful equity crowdfunding platform, Exeter-based Crowdcube, has won yet another award in recognition of the work it does to help entrepreneurs and businesses access the funds they need to grow and thrive.

The company was selected as the best equity crowdfunding platform for startups and young businesses at the inaugural AltFi Awards last week.

Pebblebed scoops gold in prestigious awards

Devon vineyard Pebblebed, has been judged top sparkling wine in the South West winning a prestigious gold medal in the South West Vineyards Wine Awards 2014.

The increasingly popular Pinot Noir, red wine was also recognised with a bronze award.

The wine is produced at the Clyst St George winery just outside Exeter.

The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust has won a national award for outstanding efficiency and improvement in developing community services.

The Trust’s stroke therapy team added to its growing trophy collection with victory at the HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards on Tuesday night (23 September).

The team beat seven other finalists in the Value and Improvement in Community Health Service Redesign category.

Steffan Davies has beaten off competition from hundreds of entrants to win the South West Learndirect Intermediate Level Apprentice of the year of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2014.

Steffan has been working at the prestigious Gidleigh Park Hotel for nearly two years. He started by doing an apprenticeship at Exeter College and has now progressed to a Commis Chef.
