Devon County Council wins national ‘flu fighter’ award

Devon County Council was among six winners today at the annual national NHS flu fighter awards. The panel of judges, including the editor of Nursing Times magazine Jenni Middleton, said that the Devon team’s remarkable efforts will be promoted across the country to inspire similar work. The awards are part of the NHS flu fighter campaign run by NHS Employers, which has helped increase the number of frontline NHS staff having flu vaccinations by 182,000 since it began in 2011. SWH, a local contractor providing civil engineering, highway maintenance and build solutions throughout the south west, has recently been awarded two Considerate Constructor’s Awards.

SWH will attend the highly anticipated awards ceremony in London alongside leading industry figures including Nick Baveystock, Director General of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Paul Everall, Chief Executive of the LABC (Local Authority Building Control). Devon Hotels Association member, Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club was among the winners at this year’s South West wedding awards which took place at the Plymouth Guildhall on Thursday 12th March 2015.

The 4 star hotel won best Devon wedding venue on the night beating off strong competition.

Woodbury Park prides itself on first class service and cuisine using local Devon produce. The hotel caters for either intimate ceremonies or extravagant receptions, with function rooms and menus to suit every taste.

For the sixth year in a row house builder Barratt has been awarded the maximum five stars in the industry’s annual customer satisfaction rating run by the Home Builders Federation (HBF).

The independent UK-wide survey, completed by over 30,000 UK homebuyers revealed that over 90 per cent of respondents buying a home from the company would recommend Barratt to a friend. This makes Barratt among the most highly rated housebuilders in Britain and the only major national housebuilder to achieve this standard for six years in a row.

THE Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust has been shortlisted for a national award for its commitment to delivering excellent patient experience.

Rangers at Devon County Council’s Stover Country Park in Newton Abbot are celebrating after scooping a prestigious award last night.

The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust has beaten off competition from Sony Europe, Tesco Bank and Jurys Inn to win a national award for the success of its online learning management system (LMS) for staff.

The Trust and Kallidus, the LMS company it works with, struck gold at the e-Learning Awards in London.

They won the Best Learning Management System Implementation category at an awards ceremony attended by around 550 guests and experts from across the industry.
