High flyers Virtual Jet Centre win Most Innovative Business Award

Staff at the Virtual Jet Centre are flying high after winning the Most Innovative Company Award at The Herald Express’ prestigious business awards.

The organisation beat off competition from 150 other companies to scoop the award at the event at Torbay’s Riviera Centre.

Virtual Jet Centre founder Andy Wilkins, a pilot with 20 years’ experience, said he was delighted: “I was amazed, very pleased, this is recognition of 12 months of blood, sweat and tears of trying to make the training centre a centre of excellence and the award is really inspiring, particularly with all the ongoing projects that we have.

“We are working with some outstanding partners to develop some really exciting new projects which will be beneficial to a whole range of people and can’t wait to be able to announce them in the next month or so.

“We have a fantastic team of people at the unit and the award is not only for the training centre but also for the extremely hard work put in by the whole team.”

The Virtual Jet Centre is situated just off the A38 at Chudleigh in Devon and has a custom-built Boeing 737-800 NGX Simulator which handles and performs like the real aircraft. From that they train pilots at all levels of experience and offer flying experiences to the public too.

A Fear of Flying course and bespoke corporate training exercises are also among the innovative cache of training sessions available.
