Exeter Symphony Orchestra and The Exeter Philharmonic Choir come together in Exeter Cathedral on Saturday 8th March 2014 in a concert in celebration of the centenary of the Royal Town Planning Institute and in support of ABF, The Soldiers’ Charity.
The programme will consist of three popular and celebratory works: An overture, ‘The Mastersingers’ by Wagner, which itself is the start to an opera about a Guild - thus very appropriate to open the concert, one of Sir Hubert Parry's great choral pieces, 'Blest Pair of Sirens' and ending with that great moment in musical history - the massive Symphony No 9: 'The Choral' by Beethoven.
The featured soloists are Alison Burnett, Juliet Curnow, Thomas Hobbs and Julian Rippon -all very well known to and appreciated by Exeter audiences. We look forward to seeing you there.
