Jewellery has been worn by both men and women for different reasons since ancient civilizations. In the past, items would be made of natural materials such as animal teeth and worn by men, but today most jewellery is made of sparkling stones and precious metals. Wearing ornaments and accessories has always been a part of fashion. This is more relevant today since we are heading towards an era of slow fashion and accessories are being used to enhance our outfits so as to make them more exciting. Designer dress extravaganza at Exeter Racecourse

An array of designer wedding dresses, with up to 70pc off, as well as outfits for the mother of the bride and bridesmaids are just part of the attraction at Exeter Racecourse’s Wedding Fayre, on Sunday, February 17.

The event, which is free to attend, promises to be a one-stop shop for anyone planning a wedding, with advice available from professionals involved in making a wedding day a memorable occasion.

Specially trained staff from a variety of bridal and occasion wear boutiques across the south-west will also be on hand to give help and advice on the dresses.

Wedding Fayre at The Fox & Hounds Country Hotel

The Fox & Hounds Country Hotel in Eggesford is holding a wedding fayre on Sunday 20th January.

This year they have over 25 stalls featuring all sorts of useful ideas and suppliers to make your day really special. Entry is free and all brides on the day will get a free goody bag.

The fayre is open from 11am-3pm with a fashion show of new and pre-loved bridal wear in the wedding chapel at lunchtime.

The Devoncourt Hotel Wedding Fair: 19th January

If you are planning a wedding, then the The Devoncourt Wedding Fair could be the place to find inspiration.

The fair takes place at the Devoncourt Hotel, Douglas Avenue, Exmouth on Saturday 19 January from 11.30am-4pm.

There will be a wide range of exhibitors, canapes and treats and a free prize draw.

There will be a dress parade at 2pm with Farthings Occasions (occasion dress, hire and sales) and Papillon Brides (wedding dresses and jewellery) and changing rooms will be available to try on.
