WESC Foundation is a specialist day and residential centre offering a unique experience for children, young people and adults with sight loss and complex needs. The children and young people are aged 4 – 25 and are from across the UK. All of the children and young people have additional needs that vary from cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and sadly some have life limiting illnesses too.
WESC Foundation team has over 300 specialist staff, made up of nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, teachers, enablers and night staff to name but a few. They all work together throughout the day and night to support the 100 children and young people in their care to reach their full potential, no matter what challenges they face.

The school and college based in Exeter offers full-time day or residential placements for 38 weeks of the academic year, all-year-round residential placements (52 week provision), part-time day or residential placements.

WESC Foundation offers specialist outreach services to a further 300 children, young people and adults mainly in the South West, offering support in mainstream and specialist schools, colleges and universities.

WESC Foundation provides a specialist environment for short respite breaks in their residential houses for young people and adults.

Their well-planned and adapted 15 acre campus provides a safe, happy and social place for young people and adults.

WESC Foundation provides specialist support to schools, colleges and universities, this includes staff training. They work in partnership with other organisations to improve the quality of support to young people and adults with visual impairment within the community and across the whole South West. They are a centre of excellence within the world of Visual Impairment, with an international reputation, in not only the Exeter Community, but across the whole of the country.
