Digital investment by UK SMEs set to increase by £53bn

UK SMEs1 are collectively planning to increase investment in their digital capabilities by £53 billion over the next two years, prioritising their websites over mobile technologies, according to new research2 from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Well, Exeter-based mum of three, Kate de Bass, felt the same way and has set about creating a solution.

Teignbridge District Council is holding an open evening for new and experienced landlords.

The event brings experts and information providers together under one roof so local landlords have all the information they need to run tenancies effectively.

It takes place on Thursday May 14 at Old Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot from 5pm-9pm.

BBC South West is to screen a special election debate featuring local voters putting questions to a panel of the region’s most prominent politicians.

New affordable homes for Bradninch

Fifteen brand new affordable homes in Bradninch were officially ‘handed over’ to their very first tenants. Social housing and care provider The Guinness Partnership developed the homes, which are built on the Duchy of Cornwall estate, in partnership with local agent Hawkcrest Land Ltd. and contractor C G Fry & Son Ltd.

One in five (21 per cent) SMEs in the South West say they do not understand the commercial benefits of being environmentally responsible according to a new study from Lloyds Bank.

One in ten (8 per cent) admit that they are not doing enough to make their businesses environmentally responsible.

Despite this, a third (35 per cent) of small businesses say better environmental practices are a top three priority for 2015.
