New initiatives to tackle homelessness in Exeter

A raft of initiatives to tackle homelessness in Exeter and Teingbridge has been put forward and will soon be available for the public to comment on.

Exeter City Council and Teignbridge District Council have drawn up a draft Homelessness Strategy to address this issue.

The Strategy will go before the City Council's Scrutiny Community Committee on 19 January before going to Executive and Council, as well as members of Teignbridge Council early next month. Francis Clark, the largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants in the South West, today announced a merger with Princecroft Willis, a leading Accountancy Practice in Dorset and Hampshire.

The merger will take place on 1 April 2016.

The newly merged firm will have a combined revenue of £38 million and a team of more than 580 people across nine offices, consolidating Francis Clark’s position as a leading accountancy and advisory firm in the South West.

New emergency fund announced to help protect communities at risk of flooding

As the UK's weather continues to cause havoc in parts of the country with residents in affected communities dealing with the aftermath of heavy rainfall, Devon County Council has announced a new emergency fund to support communities at risk.

The Devon Emergency Community Flood Resilience Fund will make funds of up to an initial £2,000 available, via Town and Parish Councils or community groups, to Devon communities.
