Spring clean for Tiverton water main

Tiverton's trunk main is to get a spring clean - using ice crystals.

South West Water will be carrying out planned maintenance on the water network from 11-14 April.

Over time very low levels of iron and manganese present in all water supplies build up on the internal surfaces of water mains. If these are disturbed due to a sudden change in flow or pressure (caused by a burst main, for example) customers may notice their water appears discoloured.

To avoid this inconvenience, South West Water periodically removes any build-up in a controlled and planned way....

Wasps 25 Exeter Chiefs 24

In 1956 at Aintree it was Devon Loch who seemed destined for Grand National glory only to crash when in sight of the finish line.

Fifty years later, ironically on the same day as the world’s most famous horse race, it was Rob Baxter’s Exeter Chiefs side who slipped in the final furlong, losing their first-ever European Champions Cup quarter-final at the hands of rivals Wasps.

As the stadium clock clicked it’s way into the final second of 80 pulsating minutes, it was home full-back Charles Piutau who powered his way over the whitewash to deliver a telling blow on the...

Exeter MP Ben Bradshaw visited Exeter-based Lightfoot earlier this week to get an update on the progress of its groundbreaking Exeter motoring trial, in which over 100 local residents are set to test its in-car driver coaching technology to see how Lightfoot® can help make driving in the city, and eventually the globe, cheaper, greener and safer. Due to go live later this April, the outcome of the trial is much anticipated.

Mr Bradshaw, who has long been a supporter of Lightfoot and its sister business Ashwoods, a leading manufacturer of innovative electric motors, met Mark Roberts...

They say the best form of defence is to attack and that’s the philosophy Rob Baxter will be instilling into his Exeter Chiefs side ahead of tomorrow’s European Champions Cup quarter-final with Wasps at the Ricoh Arena (3:15pm).

For the first time in the club’s history, the Chiefs find themselves vying for a spot in the last four of Europe’s top club competition.

It’s new and uncharted waters for the Devon club, who in just six seasons have risen out of the Championship to establish themselves as one of the growing forces within the English and European game.
