Following formal identification, the lorry driver who died as a result of the collision which closed the A38 near Exeter on Saturday morning (9th April) has been named as Andrew Small, 32, from Torquay.

Appeal after woman assaulted in Exeter car park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted and two cars were damaged in a car park in Exeter at the weekend.

A 46-year-old local woman was assaulted by a man, who was known to her, in the Stone Lane Retail Park in Marsh Barton on Sunday 10 April at around 3.45pm.

The wing mirrors and a windscreen wiper were reported to have been damaged on a silver Volkswagen Touran, which was parked next to the Matalan store.

A black Skoda was also damaged during the incident.

Farmers’ leaders in the South West say the lack of response from Defra ministers to letters highlighting problems with the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) is ‘disappointing and insulting’.

The NFU’s South West regional board wrote to Environment Secretary Liz Truss and Farming Minister George Eustice in February (12th) expressing their frustration at the way the RPA had ‘utterly failed’ and asking them to look into ‘the inadequacies of the RPA’s system… as a matter of urgency’ but so far there has been no reply.
