We will work with Devon & Cornwall Police to increase the number of police officers and PCSOs on the streets of our city, say Exeter Labour.

Exeter was one of the first cities to pioneer neighbourhood policing, and the faith in that form of policing is now seen nationwide with the introduction of Police Community Support Officers.

In the “Stronger Exeter” survey, Exeter's residents were clear that visible police presence, including PCSOs, is the most important factor in keeping Exeter safe.

Exeter Labour Group's Leader, Pete Edwards said: "When we asked Exeter...

Farming families and much of Devon and Cornwall’s rural communities have been abandoned by the police.

That was the view of retired senior police officer Bob Spencer after he visited communities on Dartmoor during his campaign to become the next police and crime commissioner for the region.

Cuts to funding have meant the closure of police stations and reductions in the number of officers which is leaving vast swathes of countryside without police cover.

Margaret and Mike Rogers, who keep 200 sheep near Widdecome on Dartmoor, say they no longer bother to report...

After a scoreless opening half, Chiefs skipper Gareth Steenson fired them in front with the first of three successful penalties, but it was the Cherry & Whites who prevailed, claiming a converted score from debutant Olly...
