The Exeter Business Improvement District is introducing an enhanced street cleaning service with the appointment of an operative who will take on the role.

As from Wednesday 20 April 2016, East Devon District Council has formally adopted the Community Infrastructure Levy charging schedule (CIL).

The charge will come into effect on 1 September 2016, allowing the council time to establish an internal process for the collection and administration of the levy. It will also give applicants and developers a reasonable lead time to become aware of the charges that will apply from that date.

Police in Exeter are investigating an assault and robbery that took place in the St Thomas area of the city on Monday night, 9th May 2016.

At around 7pm two men, aged 17 and 18, were approached by three strangers in Merrivale Park.

The three suspects, all described as wearing black or grey hoodies which were up and face masks or balaclavas, attacked the two men.

The 17 year-old suffered a slight facial injury while the 18 year-old was repeatedly hit over the head.
